Reading City Park is the place to be on Friday evenings in July thanks to Berks Art Council's Bandshell Concert Series. Now in its 29th year, the 2019 concert series delivers a diverse lineup of national and international artists for all to enjoy - free of charge. Speaking of free, not to be missed is this summer's third Downtown Alive Concert featuring Local H and Anthrophobia. Additionally, both Hamburg Community Park and Gring's Mill offer free outdoor concerts this July. And yes, there are more musical events to attend listed on our website.
Get out of the sun (or showers)
Summer time is all about spending time outside, but sometimes, you need a break from the sun (or in our case - showers). Count on the Reading Public Museum to deliver wonderful ways to spend your time. Travel Adventures invites you to build dream machines out of Legos for travel to exotic places, while Permian Monsters introduces you to an amazing collection of fossils from a relatively unknown time period. Do you remember Smokey Bear? Illustrations of the National Park's mascot are now on display at the museum too.
Experience July's festive vibe at its many festivals. The annual Kutztown Folk Festival welcomes July and leads the way to many more fun events like the Mid-Summer Craft Fair & BBQ Fest at Leesport Farmers Market. A winning combination of delicious foods and interesting crafts make the annual event a local favorite. Now in its 15th year, Berks Celtic Fest delivers everything you would expect from a day honoring the Irish, including Celtic music, drink, and vendors. This month, Berks County supports LGBTQ freedoms at Reading Pride Festival. This day of celebration features a performance by 90s music singing sensation, Crystal Waters. Rounding out the month's festival line-up is the Summer Wine Festival, a relaxing evening of great wines and food. What could be better!
