Valentine’s Day is a day dedicated to love. It’s a day to celebrate love with your significant other and to show love to the local Berks County businesses by supporting them. This February, plan a romantic dinner or book a date night at one of the local spots listed below.
Get Creative with Valentine’s Maker Dates
Goggleworks Center for the Arts offers many unique ways to mark the holiday with someone special. Choose from Valentine’s Day themed workshops that include Heart Pendant Workshop, Valentine’s Day Painting, and much more! Explore your creative side or learn a new skill while spending quality time with the one you love.
If you and your partner enjoy the cinema, make it special by booking a private movie or video game experience at GoogleWork's Albert and Eunice Boscov Film Theatre. Imagine having a theatre all to yourself to safely watch a movie or partake in some friendly video game competition on a 40-foot screen.
Delicious food, great music at The Knight's Pub!
Delicious food and great music make for a memorable Valentine’s Day evening at The Knight’s Pub at Stokesay Castle. It’s the perfect laid-back spot to enjoy with someone you really like. Make dinner reservations, but stay for the music! Grammy award winner and local favorite, David Cullen will be on hand to provide his incredible sound starting at 9pm.
Aboard a Romance on the Rails Train Excursion
Find love aboard Colebrookdale Railroad with a jaunt on their Romance on the Rails excursion offered on February 12, 13, and 14. What could be more romantic than a Valentine's Day excursion through the Secret Valley aboard a 1920's era train complete with dinner, dessert, and drinks.. All passengers will also receive a box of chocolate and a rose.
If you prefer brunch over dinner, the Valentine’s Mimosa Brunch is the excursion for you. The train departs Feb. 13 and 14 and includes a garden salad, choice of sausage or spinach quiche, and mimosa.
Wine and Chocolate at Folino Estate
You and your date will feel as if you’ve been transported to Italy when you visit Folino Estate Vineyard. Throughout February, the winery is hosting wine and chocolate pairing weekends. Wine tastings are great for group outings, or could be just the start of a romantic day followed by dinner and a movie before calling it a day.
Plan a Staycation
Sometimes a quick getaway to a local hotel or bed and breakfast is just what you need to relax, recharge, and reconnect with one another. The Gables at Stirling Guest Hotel is a grand Historic Hotel that offers a charming atmosphere to escape everyday stresses and focus on being present in the moment. Located in the Centre Park Historic District, the elegant bed and breakfast suites offer impressive amenities. Some rooms come equipped with fireplaces, furnished terraces, and whirlpool tubs. Plan a weekend away without going too far from home!
