West Reading

It took almost 60 years for Reading to cross the river to become West Reading, its first suburb. Building began here in 1810. Within the past two hundred years, this thriving borough has become a very delightful walkable downtown with shops, restaurants and unique boutiques. A close knit community of merchants and restauranteurs are continuing to grow the community, yet are careful not to lose the special character of the place.

Need a dark chocolate fix? Or to sample Chilean Malbec? Or a craft beer? Within a few blocks you can feed these obsessions, pick up locally grown apples and get your prescription filled at a charmingly old-fashioned drug store where everybody knows your name. Be sure to get a bite to eat at one of our diverse restaurants!
