Downtown Alive Concerts
Who says you need to shell out big money to see the big acts? The Downtown Alive outdoor concert series makes it so you don’t have to pay up to enjoy a stellar show. With a full on festival atmosphere and nationally-touring artists performing regularly, you definitely don’t want to miss out. Did we mention it’s free?
The Downtown Alive events are located in center city during the summer. In addition the the music, food and drinks are available from various food trucks and establishments during the concerts.
Reading Concerts in City Park - Free Music Fridays
The Berks Art Council has brought back the free concerts at the city park. Concerts will be hosted at the City Bandshell and music makers of all kinds are showing up! Local, national, and international artists all come together to put on amazing shows every Friday for a month! Lay out a blanket, or pull up a lawn chair as you kick back and enjoy the this unique blend of musical stylings.
Food vendors will also be there to ensure that you can get dinner and a show! Dates for the shows are July 12th, 19th, 26th, and August 2nd. View information on the shows and artists!
Berks Celtic Fest
If you, like so many others in the area, are drawn to celebrations of Celtic heritage, then the 15th annual Berks Celtic Fest is the place for you! Held in Willow Glen Park in Sinking Spring, PA, this festival highlights the best of the best for food, drink, music, and family fun, with a Celtic twist.
When you combine great food, a family atmosphere, and fantastic music, you’re sure to have an awesome time. Between shows, take the opportunity to peruse the shops and stands from local vendors! Music in the Barn
Why not sit back and enjoy some locally crafted wine with a show at the Pinnacle Ridge Winery! Even if wine isn’t your thing, they have a newly built bar and tap system for beer and cider! With a private and cozy Tasting Room, and open barn space to enjoy the various concerts they have set up throughout the summer, there’s something for everyone! The next concert is set for July 20th with the James Supra Trio, and then Trouble City All-Stars on July 27th. Check out the event page for more information!
Muhlenberg's RiverFest
If you prefer to enjoy your music in a scenic setting, you can’t go wrong with Muhlenberg’s RiverFest. Held in a picturesque park by the river, this fest features music, food vendors, beer and wine gardens, and more! You’ll also get a chance to check out all of the local artisan and home-based businesses that come into town for the festival.
With two musical stages, the stage will be rocking at this free to attend event that runs from Friday, August 23rd to Sunday, August 25th at Jim Dietrich Park in Reading, PA. For a full list of the bands that will be playing, check out the event page!
Santander Center Concerts
The Santander Arena and Performing Arts Center offer a huge variety of shows, music, and fun events throughout the summer! From WWE Live shows to Bryan Adams’ Shine A Light Tour, Santander has it all, right here in Reading, PA! Make sure to check out all of the different shows available on their site!
Music Under the Stars
When the weather is this nice, you don’t want to spend it indoors, but what can you do when you want to relax during the week with dinner and a show? Every 4th Thursday of the month, Bear Creek Mountain Resort in Macungie, PA is hosting Music Under The Stars, a free to attend event that the whole family can enjoy! With open seating, you can relax on your favorite blanket or bring your own chairs and just take in the show. While you’re listening to the music, take advantage of the outdoor dining at The Grille!
