With difficult climbs and thrilling descents aplenty for those riders looking to challenge themselves. But with plenty of calm valley roads that are practically devoid of cars, those looking for a more relaxing ride have plenty of options as well. The truth is that this region of Pennsylvania has long been a base for cyclists not just from the area but all around the world. The nearby Valley Preferred Cycling Center (or T-Town as it’s more commonly known) has been a proving ground for generations of Olympic athletes. The same roads that have been enjoyed by Berks County residents for decades have also proven to be world class training grounds for riders from all over the world
The Reading Radsport Festival aim’s to highlight all these amazing cycling amenities available here in Reading. The Mount Penn Hill climb will take racers 1000 feet above the city of Reading and take full advantage of this beautiful climb. While the Dirt Course in City Park will host different races for the off-road racers and aim to highlight the vast resources available to them. Both races will take place on Sunday, August 5th with the West Reading Professional Criterium preceding them on Saturday, August 4th.
