As the sun sets and the full moon rises, folks across Berks County are preparing for Halloween hijinks. This year, the spookiest of holidays falls midweek, making this last weekend of October, (26 – 28) the best time for costumes, candy, and hocus-pocus. We’ve checked our calendar for spirited festivities to dress-up your weekend. Add a little magic to your plans, or conjure up a spooktacular weekend around our suggestions.
October 26 - 27
Halloween Lantern Tours 5:30 pm Crystal Cave
See Crystal Cave by the glow of hand-held lantern lights. Feel the chill as you follow Victorian-clad guides on the original 1870 Crystal Cave tour. Hear ghost stories, folklore, and the history of Crystal Cave. Because it can be scary, the tour is not suitable for children under the age of 8. Reservations required.

Trick or Treat Pumpkin Hayride 10 am to 4 pm Daniel Boone Homestead
Halloween at Daniel Boone Homestead? Why not! The Homestead with Exeter Township invites you to spend time at their Halloween & Fall Festival event. Activities include face painting, crafts, corn holes, bouncy houses, hay rides, as well as live music, food vendors and more. In addition, the township is also holding a food drive for the local food bank and a collection of toys for Toys for Tots. Bring a donation and have a fun-filled day.

Trick or Treat Pumpkin Train Rides Departure times: 10 am, 12 pm, 2 pm, 4 pm Allentown & Auburn Railroad Kutztown
Halloween fun and a train ride too! Allentown and Auburn's Pumpkin Train ride invites families on a Halloween excursion. Talk about treats, kids get a treat and can pick out a pumpkin to take home! Costumes are optional, but all riders must have a ride ticket. Tickets can be picked up the day of the trip. Please be at least 10 minutes early to pick up tickets.

Trick or Treat Candy & Wine Pairing 11 am - 8 pm Folino Estate Vineyard and Winery
Why Should Kids Have All the Fun? Folino Estate Vineyard invites you to join their Trick or Treat Candy & Wine Pairing Weekend! Try four different wines paired with four different Halloween candies. Trick or Treat at the Museum 12 - 4 pm Reading Public Museum
Have a fun and safe trick-or-treating experience at the Reading Public Museum. Kids will enjoy Halloween-themed crafts and trick-or-treating through the galleries! This is the perfect time of year to visit the mummy! Wear a costume and bring a bag for collecting your treats. Admission includes access to the entire Museum, trick-or-treating is just a bonus! No reservations required. Museum Members are FREE
