No need to fear Friday the 13th in Pennsylvania's Americana Region. In fact you're in luck if you're venturing our way today because it's the start of a weekend full of fun. Some of the activities might be a little on the scary side, but all in all, be prepared for great entertainment Friday through Sunday. What to do and where to go is all a matter of preference, but your options are plentiful. Here are some ways to get this Friday the 13th off to a good start.

October 13th - 14th Mountain by Moonlight South Mountain YMCA 6 - 9 pmFriday the 13th in Pennsylvania's Americana Region

Spend Friday the 13th at South Mountain YMCA camps' Mountain by Moonlight. The family-friendly evening is filled with Halloween activities, just perfect for Pre-K, elementary, and middle school students and their families. Take a non-haunted hayride, or a PG haunted hayrides, play carnival games, try glow-stick zip lining, and much more. The best part, admission is free! You only pay for the activities you and your family are interested in doing. It's a great way to get outside on an October evening in Pennsylvania's Americana Region.

October 13th - 15th

Young FrankensteinFriday the 13th in Pennsylvania's Americana Region Genesius Theatre 7:30 - 10pm

How perfect is this? The Mel Brooks comedy, Young Frankenstein opens tonight at Genesius Theatre. If you can't make this evening's performance, there are more throughout the weekend. In fact, the play runs for a total of thirteen performances through the end of the October.

Pickfest Boyertown Boyertown, PennsylvaniaFriday the 13th in Pennsylvania's Americana Region

Celebrate Americana in Boyertown! Starting Friday the 13th, the town fills with music and lots and lots of things to do. Between musical performances, shop, visit artisan galleries, take a Ghost Walk, sample craft beers or go to a wine tasting. Boyertown has it going on all weekend long!

Haunted Hollow and Family Fun Fest Jim Dietrich Park Haunted fun all 3 nights: 7 - 10 pm Family fun: Saturday 11 am - 5 pm

Family oriented fun by day and haunted activities at night will keep Jim Dietrich Park hopping all weekend long. At night, take a Haunted Hayride through the hollow and along the river or dare to walk through the Haunted Barn. (Children under 10 should have parental supervision for evening activities.)  On Saturday, October 14th, the park is all about family with fall activities like pumpkin painting, arts and crafts, carnival games, scarecrow making, and a traditional hayride. Saturday is the only time that a traditional (non-scary) hayride will be offered over the weekend. Tickets: Haunted Hayride & Haunted Barn - $10/pp or $16 for both attractions. Other activities at various prices.

October 15

Oktoberfest with Alex Meixner BandFriday the 13th in Pennsylvania's Americana Region Stoudt's Bier Garten 12 - 6 pm

October in PA's Americana Region is a time to celebrate Oktoberfest!  The Stoudt family is proud to carry on this tradition in their Gemutlichkeit Bier Garden.  A fun-filled family event held every Sunday in October, it features live German music, dancing, Stoudt's award-winning lagers and ales, and locally produced German food. From 2 to 6 pm enjoy German music by the ever-popular, Alex Meixner Band.

General Admission: $10 – Children under 11 free.
