Maifest: May 2nd-3rd 

Maifest 2025 is now two days of celebration! Come gather on the Mountain at the Reading Liederkranz to welcome Spring at their 2025 Maifest celebration. There will be dancing, music galore, food and drink, and the Maipole! Maifest is always a great event with lots of entertainment and they are going big for 2025. The musical performer Friday will be none other than The Alex Meixner Band. There will also be performances from the RLK Singers and GTV Dancers.

Family Fishing Day

Family Fishing Day: May 17th 

Join Parks Staff and Rangers as they enjoy an evening of fishing fun! Learn how to tie fishing knots, try your hand at casting, and hear some fishing tales! No experience or tackle necessary - no fishing license required. All rods, bait, and tackle will be provided. Park in the main lot (Angora Trailhead) at Antietam Lake, 230 Angora Rd. You will meet at the Bingaman House before walking to the lake.

 

Boyertown Heritage Day

Boyertown Heritage Day: May 17th   

Take part in a real-life detective story! Collect clues found at Boyertown's historical sites to shed light on the past and solve the mystery! Can you crack the case and secure the reward? Sleuthing fun for all ages! An interactive historical scavenger hunt where participants will gather clues from locations and re-enactors around downtown Boyertown. The clues will help solve a mystery tied to a moment in Boyertown's historical past. Free to participate. 

 

Dogs & Brews- Reading Public Museum

Dogs & Brews: May 25th  

This event will have vendors to visit, craft beer and wine to sample, food trucks to try, and dogs to pet! Spend the day on The Museum’s grounds supporting local breweries, wineries, pet rescues, and local businesses. There will also be a raffle, lawn games, music, and face painting. This event benefits the Reading Public Museum and the Animal Rescue League of Berks County! Dogs are welcome at this event! Dogs must remain on a leash while at the event and on Museum grounds. Dogs are not permitted inside of The Museum or Planetarium buildings.

Souvenir tasting glasses will be given out on a first come first served basis starting at the beginning of the event. Once glasses run out, you will receive a plastic cup for tastings.
