TAKE A CAR RIDE
Self-guided Covered Bridge & Barn Star Art Tours – Crisp fall days are made for car rides on Berks County scenic country roads. HAWK MOUNTAIN SANCTUARY
A trip to Hawk Mountain Sanctuary is always a treat, however, fall is one of the best times to visit the first refuge for birds of prey. From August 15 - December 15, Hawk Mountain Sanctuary is one of the best places in North America to watch the annual hawk migrarion. Located on the Kittatinny Ridge of the Appalachian Mountains, the refuge sits in the path of raptors as they slope soar the ridge on their journey south. Make plans to witness the spectacle of this year's migration.
GET LOST IN A CORN MAZE
Fall wouldn’t be fall without a trip (or two) to a corn maze! There’s nothing like getting lost in the jumble of twists and turns created by the withered stalks. Of course, once free of the maze, there are pumpkins to pick, hay bales to climb, scarecrows to stuff, animals to see… the list goes on and on. SCENIC TRAIN RIDES
For a fun and relaxing way to see the gorgeous fall colors of Pennsylvania’s Americana Region - take a ride - a train ride. READING LIEDERKRANZ OKTOBERFEST
The pandemic may have put the kibosh to the Oktoberfest celebrations Berks County is known for, but the Reading Liederkranz has come up with an alternative way to celebrate. The organization is hosting a 3-day wedding celebration with limited tickets. The events are for members and their guests, but tickets are available to the general public which includes a Liederkranz membership for the remainder of 2020
