Chatty Monks Brewing Company
The Jagadesans purchased Chatty Monks Brewing Company in May 2021. The family combined their food expertise with their love of beer and community for the ultimate tap takeover. The success of the venture is evident in the wonderful beer offerings that pair wonderfully with delicious food options that include Indian fusion, traditional pub fare, and vegetarian and gluten-free options. Chatty’s convenient pub located in the heart of West Reading offers the perfect start to your trail journey. Eat, Drink, Love at Chatty Monks!
Saucony Creek Brewing Company
Enjoy the fruits of Saucony Creek Beer at two different locations. Saucony Creek Brewing Company is a spacious and modern brewery and gastropub in Kutztown, PA. This is where the brewing happens. The brewery is named after the creek and water source that runs through its production grounds in Kutztown and is known for its unique craft beers. Since launching in 2013, Saucony has been the winner of multiple Pennsylvania Farm Show beer competitions. Saucony strives to source local ingredients to create its beers and inspire glass-clinking camaraderie through its creations. Its pub fare is yummy too.
Saucony Creek at Franklin Station
Saucony Creek at Franklin Station became the brewery’s second location when it opened in downtown Reading, PA in July 2019. The newer venue occupies the magnificently restored Reading Railroad Franklin Street Station. This passenger train station was originally built in the early 1930s in the Renaissance Revival Architectural style and was completely restored in 2013. Three-story arched windows provide guests with a view of the passing trains as they sample Saucony’s beers.
Brewer's Bar & Grill
Brewer's Bar & Grill isn’t a brewery, but, rather, a sports bar featuring an incredible selection of craft beers. The bar offers 18 revolving craft beer taps and over 300 types of canned and bottled beers. Located in West Reading, Brewer's is a great spot to enjoy American Pub food while watching a sporting event. While there, you can catch up on the history of Reading Breweries before and after prohibition with the memorabilia hanging on every wall.
Deerfoot Vineyard and Winery
We told you we included a winery in the trail. And this one is nestled in the rolling hills of Pennsylvania. Deerfoot Vineyard and Winery is an award-winning micro-winery that produces about 10-15 wines per year ranging from dry barrel-aged reds to sweet whites or fruit wines. As the third generation to live and work the land, the Brown family welcomes guests to their tasting room, a small summer kitchen next to their farmhouse. If the temperature allows, grab a seat at an outdoor table to sip wine and enjoy the peaceful valley. Groups of 6+ call ahead.
Copperz Brewing Company
Following years of beer samplings at family gatherings, Copperz Brewing Company was born with a mandate to create craft beers up to family standards. Despite setbacks, like the global pandemic, Copperz's vision of brewing outstanding beers to serve with delicious food never died. Today, head to Copperz's welcoming Hamburg location to experience wonderful craft brews and foods rooted in family.
The Referend Bier Blendery
The Referend Bier Blendery practices the neglected art of waiting, producing beer using strictly spontaneous fermentation, with no yeast cultures added at any time. The beers are matured in oak barrels that impart little flavor, allowing the beer to breathe. So, how does beer taste when nature runs its course? Well worth the wait. Give it a try at The Referend’s cellar and tasting room in Kutztown, PA.
Willow Creek Brewing
Creating craft beers since 2018, Willow Creek Brewing offers a comfortable spot to grab a brew and some food at their West Reading tap room. The location always has its six signature beers on tap, with experimental blends offered throughout the year. Not only is the beer good, the focus of the brewery is doing good. Willow Creek holds a charity night every month and puts part of the proceeds towards local, charitable causes.
Gather some friends and let the tasting begin!
