VF Outlet Center

The granddaddy of all outlets is Reading’s own VF Outlet Center. In 1970, M.O.Lee, then president of VF Corporation, which manufactured Berkshire and Vanity Fair garments, hosted a one-day sale of excess merchandise. It became the inspiration for the first outlet center in the country. Savvy shoppers enjoy bargain prices up to 70% off retail, with sales, daily markdowns, and special promotions at well-known brand stores, such as Lee, Wrangler, JanSport, Carter’s, Olga, Warner’s, Dooney & Bourke, Samsonite, Oshkosh B’gosh, Timberland, Nautica, Reef, Reading China and Glass, and more.

Another magnet for bargain shoppers is Philadelphia Premium Outlets in Limerick Township in Montgomery County. The huge 553,000 square foot open air mall features 150 outlet stores, such as Ann Taylor, Banana Republic, BCBG Max Azria, Brooks Brothers, Calvin Klein, Coach, Cole Haan, DKNY, Elie Tahari, Forever 21, Gap Outlet, Guess, J.Crew, Last Call by Neiman Marcus, Michael Kors, Nike, Polo Ralph Lauren, Tommy Hilfiger and more.
