Berks Jazz Fest – April

Reading, PA

Plan to be in Reading, PA during April for the annual Berks Jazz Fest.  The 10-day jazz extravaganza is considered one of the largest and most comprehensive festivals of its kind in the country, with more than 40 main stage concerts at different venues in the area. Since 1991, locals and visitors alike have enjoyed some of the hottest entertainers and musicians in jazz, blues, world music, gospel and R&B right here in Reading, PA!  Enjoy more than 45 main stage concerts at a variety of venues in Greater Reading, including non-ticketed events.

Reading Hospital Garden Party – June

Reading, PA

Sponsored by The Friends of Reading Hospital, the annual Garden Party is held on the mall outside of the 6th Avenue Clock Tower entrance of Reading Hospital at the beginning of June. Reading Health System employees, their friends and family, community residents, and visitors are all invited to enjoy live entertainment, delicious food, beautiful plants and flowers, and fun games and activities. Enjoy the Bazaar that includes vendor booths, and the Kid’s Zone which offers games and activities for kids of all ages.

Kutztown Folk Festival – June/July

Kutztown, PA 

The Kutztown Folk Festival is the oldest continuing folk-life event in the nation and is known as America’s largest quilt sale! Lovers of authentic handmade quilts and Pennsylvania Dutch food, culture and entertainment will be in heaven during nine fun-filled days every June and July. Enjoy more than 200 demonstrating craftsmen, strolling musicians, brass bands and Mennonite singers, puppet shows in the barnyard theater, and a ride on the 19th-century horse-drawn carousel, the last of its kind in the country. The festival attracts more than 130,000 visitors to the festivities and over 2,000 exquisite quilts on display.

Taste of Hamburg-er Festival – September

Hamburg, PA 

Do you love hamburgers? If you’re a connoisseur, then you’ll appreciate the annual Taste of Hamburg-er Festival held in downtown Hamburg, in the lush foothills of the Appalachian Mountains. This is the East Coast’s premier hamburger event, and it attracts over 30,000 visitors to the 25+ hamburger stands, multiple entertainment stages, a beer and wine garden, chili cook-off and other fun contests, children’s activities, and a variety of artists and crafters displaying their work.  The festival takes place every year on Saturday of Labor Day weekend.

Mushroom Festival – September

Kennett Square, PA

Kennett Square is “The Mushroom Capital of the World;” over 65% of the mushrooms consumed in the U.S. are grown here. It’s entirely fitting to celebrate their number one cash crop with the annual Mushroom Festival. It won 2nd place in the USA Today Reader’s Choice poll as Best Specialty Food Festival in America, and was voted by Travelocity as one of Pennsylvania’s top festivals. Over 100,000 visitors come from far and wide to enjoy the Amateur Mushroom Cook-Off, the National Fried Mushroom Eating Championship, a community parade, dancing in the streets, kid’s activities, a carnival, over 200 vendor booths and plenty of musical entertainment. 

arts festival READING – October

Reading, PA 

This annual arts festival READING takes place at GoggleWorks Center for the Arts in downtown Reading during American Craft Week on the first weekend in October of every year. It features juried entries from as many as 90 high quality, visiting artists and craftsmen, as well as 30+ GoggleWorks studio artists, Ceramics and Glass Studio demonstrations, musical entertainment, and great food.
