DANS at Green Hills

Originally established in downtown Reading in 1989 by Dan Gallagher and Dan Smith, Dans at Green Hills remains a Reading treasure under new ownership. In fact, the restaurant expanded a few years ago when it moved to the 200 year old Green Hills Inn, where it’s known throughout the area for serving fine Contemporary American cuisine with a French flair.
Enjoy wonderful wine selections, along with steak, seafood, pasta and other impeccable fresh, seasonal dishes either indoors in four private dining rooms or out on the lovely new patio (weather permitting). Dans is open for dinner daily from 4pm to 9pm (8pm Sundays and Mondays).

For Our Seafood Lovers
Although they offer options for both seafood and non-seafood lovers, here are a few of our favorite restaurants in Berks County for fish:
- Coastal Grille – If you’re craving coconut shrimp, grilled lobster tail, pan-seared scallops, fried calamari, or even Baja fish tacos, Coastal Grille is the place. The upscale yet casual environment offers a diverse selection of seafood and other specialties to please everyone in your lunch or dinner party. Find them at 2713 N. Meridian Blvd. from 11:00am until 9:00pm (10:00pm on Friday and Saturday).
- Ugly Oyster Drafthaus – The Ugly Oyster is the oldest pub in Berks County, and yes, you can get your fill of oysters, littleneck clams, mussels and hot, steamed shrimp at their extensive raw bar. But there’s more great food that everyone will enjoy, including cheesesteaks, burgers, steaks and more seafood. They’re open daily from 11:30am (noon on Sunday) until 2:00am, so there’s plenty of time to enjoy seafood, good brews and a fun ambiance.
