This position requires an understanding of long-term care supports and services for aging and disabled individuals. The primary roles of an Ombudsman are advocacy and empowerment. The employee is responsible for performing Ombudsman duties in nursing homes, assisted living and personal care facilities, older adult daily living centers and in homes of consumers/residents receiving home and community-based services. Documentation of work is completed in Statewide database. The Ombudsman also assists in recruitment, promotion, and management of multiple volunteer programs. This position reports directly to the Ombudsman Supervisor.
